International Plan Stipend

International Plan students studying or working abroad for the fall or spring semesters, or the entire academic year are eligible to apply for an IP stipend. Students participating in a faculty-led summer study abroad are eligible for this funding if the program is the second term counting toward the 26-week international experience requirement, OR if the first-term summer program is followed immediately by a fall program or year-long program approved to fulfill their international experience requirement. If students are combining the summer program with a fall or year-long program, the stipend will be disbursed 4-6 weeks after the fall courses/work has started.

As required by International Plan policy, applicants must have a 2.7 GPA prior to going abroad, and thus, to qualify for the stipend. Awards are subject to funding availability, and stipend details are subject to change. Furthermore, funds may not be made available prior to departure.

Qualifying students may be awarded this stipend more than once but priority will be given to those not previously awarded.

Federally defined financial need will be a consideration in awarding stipends. Therefore, applicants are encouraged to complete a FAFSA through the Office of Financial Aid Web site. Just click on Forms, then "Free Application for Federal Student Aid."
